Good Friday

Today, I experienced a precious prayer from my five your old son Gabe.  I was asked to share a little something at our Good Friday service at church.  So, I needed time to prepare and had the kids either taking naps or doing "rest time" in their rooms.  Pretty soon I heard knocking on Gabe's bedroom door. So, I opened it and Gabe asked to come out to get more markers to color with.  I went back to our kitchen table and kneeled down to continue praying and writing out my thoughts.  Gabe came back by the table and said,  "Hey, mom do you want me to pray for you?   I could you know."    Of course, I said sure as I wiped the tears from my eyes.  He prayed a simple yet powerful prayer.  "God, please give mommy the right words to say tonight and fill her with your spirit.  Amen."

Wow!  Thank God for the tender prayers of children.

What's So Amazing About Easter!

Well, here you have it.  A great picture of what feelings may be expressed at this Easter season.  Ian, a picture of what is important, a sense of seriousness and responsiblity of the enormity of what Christ has done for us.  Avery, a sense of expectancy and anticipation of the great gift waiting for every believer who wants to see the risen Christ.  Gabe a sense of "I think I am starting to believe..."  Elise, "What God would chose to sacrifice his only son, it just doesn't make sense...the frustration at trying to understand it all."
